My story is rooted in a deep commitment to New Hampshire’s public schools, compassionate leadership, and a genuine desire to serve.

  • A Career of Service: With more than 25 years in the nonprofit sector, I have held public-facing leadership roles at respected organizations like Waypoint and New Hampshire Public Radio (NHPR).

  • Manchester Connected: I’ve been a Granite Stater since 1994, and have called Manchester home since 2018.

  • Family First: 7 of my 9 grandchildren attend or will attend NH public schools. All 6 of my children and stepchildren are proud NH public school graduates.

  • Educators at Heart: Two of my family members currently teach in NH public schools. My husband, Tom ("Stew") Stewart, dedicated over 40 years as an educator, administrator, and coach at Monadnock Regional High School.

  • Enthusiastic & Spirited: I am an extremely proud graduate of the University of Michigan and Port Clinton High School in Port Clinton, Ohio.

Why I'm Running

Public education is under brutal attack at the federal, state, and local levels. Those who oppose it are dismantling this foundational institution with reckless disregard for our kids, our teachers, and our future. It’s a dangerous threat to our community's overall well-being and prosperity. I am driven to pursue public service out of genuine concern and a deep belief in public education as a pillar of democracy.

As a Manchester School Board At-Large candidate, I’m running to serve every ward to ensure every student, no matter their background or circumstance, has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.

I am unapologetically pro-public schools. I have a heart for service and for kids, and an urgent desire to direct my energy toward listening, learning, and working toward informed, equitable solutions.

My priorities are:

  • Responsible Stewardship: Using financial resources wisely and securing support for mission-critical programs.

  • Smart Investments: Strengthening educational outcomes for all students.

  • Effective Oversight: Supporting and governing the Manchester School District with care and common sense.

  • Community Connection: Listening first and acting second to unite families, educators, and the greater Manchester community.

  • Collaboration: Encouraging public-private partnerships that benefit students.

  • Transparency & Accountability: Leading with integrity as a public servant and creating lasting connections that strengthen the community.

Every Ward. Every Student. One Manchester.

Proven Commitment to  Community

As a recently retired nonprofit development professional, I bring decades of experience creating vibrant connections and nurturing relationships with integrity and commitment. I am prepared to tackle complex challenges through collaboration and accountability.

My strengths include:

  • Partnership Building: Bringing together diverse stakeholders to achieve shared goals.

  • Resource Development: Securing funding and support for mission-critical programs.

  • Community Engagement: Creating lasting connections that strengthen organizations and communities.

  • Strategic Problem-Solving: Turning concern into action with measurable results.

My approach combines the urgency of an advocate with the pragmatism of someone who gets things done. I believe in balancing defiance against injustice with belief in a better future, exactly what this moment requires.

My Values

Student Success & Equity

Every child deserves a great education no matter their zip code or background. I’ll fight for equitable resources, support programs that close achievement gaps, and promote personalized learning so every student can thrive.

Teacher & Staff Support

Educators and Educational Support Professionals are the heart of our schools. I’ll advocate for competitive pay, professional development and staff training, and working conditions that attract and retain top talent across Manchester who feel valued and appreciated.

Safe & Inclusive Schools

Students learn best when they feel safe, welcomed, and valued. I’ll support initiatives that promote wellbeing, prevent bullying, and celebrate the diversity that makes Manchester special.

Family & Community Engagement

Strong schools need strong partnerships. I’ll work to expand family involvement, improve communication, and ensure every voice in our community is heard and respected.
